The Saga of the Bjornings
capt Lanceor "lance" deHoude "hood"
Mercenary captain and landed noble from the western isles
Captain Laneor DeHoude Laird duSee, baron of Norcross, lord of the northern march, firstborn of Guy DeHoude laird DuNorde au Peldanor, Duke of Bregondy. was a “first” born in the town of Langbay when it was colonized by Peldanorian conquerors. the master of the region let them assimilate into the lands as part of the people and chose Lance to be one of his captains. he quickly rose to prominence among the court of the master.
When the masters disappeared, Lance was stationed as a captain of the garrison. When the rebel army marched on Langbay with genocidal intents he and his first and augments defended the town nearly to the last. He fled the city with a small band of survivors and made his way across the countryside gathering the outcasts to form a mercenary company. after many years he and his company aided in a coup de tat of the city of Norcross, ousting the evil Duke and was put in place as Baron of Norcross, as his birth did not afford him the semi royal title of Duke. King Aelfwyne Trolham, high king of the Isles acknowledged him for his part in purging the island of the heretical sect of the crimson path.
when finally the Wulfings raided the countryside Lance was oathbound to defend his countrymen and sided with the grandson of his old rival, bluto Othmarson, in invading the homeland of the wuflings. Upon observiing the razing of Rimmskilde he saw that Bluto had accepted the doctrine of the Crimson Path heresy and made a deal with the warlord Gustav and his son Bjorn against Bluto. when the Norsemen laid siege to Langbay Lanceor was a part of the besieging army and kept the post battle carnage to minimum and helped convince the locals to resist the lordship of Bluto.
during that winter for reasons unknown Lance and his mercenaries traveled south to the Celestine empire, giving his throne in Norcross to a lesser lord. in the court of Alexios, Basilios and Avtokrator or the empire he is the captain of the apovlitos or outcast, gaurd.
